progress

remoting in to another computer..um pretty much that means I use my computer as a pretty little interface....like just the shell to use another computer. Physically I'm using my computer, but I am actually running a program on another program, which means I need permission to do so. Yeah that's the part that made last week interesting, repeatedly I had to go request more permission. Bah. Oh well I didnt have much else to do at work. In fact Friday when I was waiting to get permission to do yet another thing I got bored and so I decorated my cube. Haha my boss said he has to get used to "girl flair" It's feeling more like home at work, as in I'm getting comfortable and I can now joke with the guys. I hope I can be actually productive at work soon, it's frustrating knowing there's lots to do and yet I don't know how to do it.

What else exciting happened this week? Oh I have a new phone number, yeah to being local to where I live. That was an experience getting that switched over, but it's all done now.

Also today I got my health insurance stuff in the mail, I don't understand, it started on the 1st but they didnt feel the need to give me my information till the 20th, wow.

Oh I got my expense check for moving here. Most of the money goes to my parents since they are the ones that paid for the trailer and such. My check came in 2 parts. They can only give me so much without taxing it. So I got one expense check and the rest showed up on my check as a bonus, which gets taxed. So my boss was afraid I wouldnt get the whole amount, but Werner is a smart company. They gave me more than the amount so that after taxes it ends up being the right amount. Does that mean I actually get reimbersed more if I get money back when I do my taxes? This could work in my favor, silly government with limits on what can be counted as moving expenses.

Today I went running with Kristy. We tried running at a new park, except we didnt know where to park. I pulled into the park and saw her driving ahead of me a couple cars, so I followed. She didnt see me, she ended up passing me 3 times. Before I lost her, she then went to a gas station and called me....we parked at the gas station and ran to the park from there. We are special girls. Very directionally challenged, special girls.

So Christmas is coming and I actually know someone that is practically done shopping. I don't understand this. I have no idea what to get anyone. I'm so bad at buying presents. I generally end up buying last minute things. There has been more than one year where I've had to go shopping on Chrismas Eve. This year I think I need to be done buying things by the 23rd. Because that's the day I fly to Chicago and it could be bad to ask my family to take me shopping so that I can buy them things. I sent my family lists of things to get me because well they are all always clueless and normally I say I dont know what I want which is true this year as well but I did put things down.....though um I doubt I'll be getting a house or a dog.....So I think I should make them all send me lists, but I always like to be creative, I think that's why it takes me so long to pick presents I don't want to get something stupid and I like suprises so the people that recieve my presents should like suprises too. Ok I'm beginning to ramble. I'm excited for next week I get to see people and do things. I only get a 4 day week though, not a 3 day week like some people, but oh well, take what you can get I suppose.
