Time Warp

Last weekend my sister and I felt like we were in a bit of a time warp. We listened to 80s music and visited places from our past. The big attraction for my sister was going to the town she graduated from high school in. It really felt like it was 1990 or before again. The population sign when we drove into town had virtually the same amount of people as it did when we moved from there, the Dairy King is still there, the school is the same (still one school k-12), our house is a different color but really minor things like house color are the only changes. We also went to eat at a place in Omaha that our family would go on special occasions. I think even the waitresses are the same there.

I know time doesnt stand still. Since 1990 my sister and I have changed a lot, the rest of the world has as well. But Arlington and Johnny's Cafe are stuck in a strange time warp. Nothing will change them. I guess it makes it easier to go back to visit when places stay the same, that way you still know your way around. But it's a little spooky I think, everything should change at least a little, I like change.

Yep, Arlington is stuck in a strange time warp...kinda like Iowa, it'll always be behind the times :) But I guess you're right, if Arlington did change, you wouldn't know your way around when you come back! So I guess you just have to love it for what it is and what it will never be...

Oops, I guess I forgot to put my name on that last comment...'anonymous' just doesn't suit me that well.
